The Last Week of Summer

How can it be that we are ending our second week of school and I'm still knee deep into summer pictures still?  I've got to edit them and get them here or I feel like the memories will be lost.  So here goes...

During the last full week of summer before the girls started school I tried to make it memorable and fun so we did something each day.  Anna needed a distraction because she was starting to get a bit nervous.  Abigail had no idea what was ahead of her so she didn't know to be scared yet.

We did simple things at home.  Like a lunch picnic in our backyard.

And a tea party in our kitchen.

We had a few lazy summer afternoons doing the things we love.

We spent time at the pool of course.

Wrote and colored and made things. (I know that the pole is not in a great place in this picture but I love Abigail in it. Oh those sisters... best friends)

Tackled some back to school projects.

And on the last day we headed to Mystic Aquarium.

(Abigail and I love Raffi's 'baby belgua in the deep blue sea' song... so seeing a beluga was a highlight for her)

Anna and I were a bundle of nerves that last day so it was good to get away and do something so different. Yes, summer went by too quickly. But it was a good one!
