A Little Bit of Twinkle in our Family Room

Oh how I love this time of year. September ending and October not a day past yet. I love the cooler temps and the bright sunshine days. I love the rainy cozy days. I love coming home from school and lighting a candle, turning on lamps and of course turning on some twinkle lights.

We are in the middle of lots of home projects right now and I am surely excited about them. But this room (even though I didn't take pictures of all of it) is all cozy for autumn and I love it in here!

🧡 There's No Place Like Home 🧡

Pumpkins and haybale all from this little pumpkin trip.

After our 29th autumn married I finally found a squirrel spray that actually keeps the squirrels from eating our pumpkins!!! Living in our tree filled home in CT we have an enormous amount of squirrels and this is the first time I've had pumpkins on our front steps! (link here)

Teapot Shelf

The banners from Susan Branch are the most charming and they set the mood for sweetness and joy in our kitchen. And so does this fall teapot shelf. I'm constantly rearranging it and can't wait to see how it will look at Christmastime.  ❤ Scott built his shelf for me last Mother's Day

Sweet Dreams

I was really hoping for some cooler weather at the end of this week. But today is still warm. By the end of next week though... 60's! Hooray!

I love windows open blowing fresh air through our house and because of that we shined up our window, windowsills, washed the sheers, we are ready to go! I even changed up our bedding for the fall.

I've been loving 'block prints' and so I started with the quilt, added on the bedspread, and some pillows. There are still a few changes I'd like to make but I love it for now...

September in the Baking Center

I do really love this little baking center that is tucked away in a little corner of our cozy kitchen. I love it all year round but I especially love it in the autumn for all of the fall goodies to bake. (It's wonderful at Christmastime too)

On Sunday I baked some oatmeal brown sugar muffins with a crunchy topping. (so good with a cup of tea) I love to freeze them so I can pop one out whenever we need them. A freezer full of goodness like this makes my heart sing!

Caramel apples and a cookbook for charm charm charm

Little jars of honey for individual cups of tea and little 'just for one' teapots

I have baskets lining the top along with all of my autumn tablecloths - easy to pull, use - and they look adorable up there!

Peeking in through the pie cooling window (in the mudroom/laundry room)

Whenever I feel stressed or that I just haven't had enough time at home, it's my baking center that helps me to feel wholesome, happy, grounded again. I love it so.

Fall in Our Home ~ Open Shelving

I love the openness of this and how I can style it for each season. I love how functional it all is and how it just feels "like home"

It's right above our kitchen table where we eat breakfast and dinner together. It just makes me so happy.
I've got quite a collection of ironstone... even those teacups up there are ironstone from England. The apple china mug and the 'autumn' one are from Susan Branch. Delightful... with even a recipe on the back!

Check out Emma Bridgewater's mugs - a little sturdier but still seasonal. Someday I'd love a big pine hutch filled with them.

These are those Susan Branch mugs that are delicate and wonderful to have out.

Found this apple picking mug at a thrift store years ago and it's perfect for hot cider or tea at night in September and even as the weather gets cozier in October!

Little kitchen lamp I ordered as a treat a few years back from Newport Lamp and Shade. Darling and goes anywhere I want.

I've been collecting Emma Bridgewater mugs for years now and this Halloween one comes out this time every year and it's just so fun!
