Nooooooo Snow!

Update Sunday Night: It's now up to 20 inches and a proclaimed blizzard with winds up to 70 mph! 

Friday: 

I'm not sure why I had the feeling that this storm was going to be our one and only big storm. 

There are still mounds of snow everywhere! Over a foot covering every surface. 

Well I was wrong. Very wrong. We have another one coming Sunday night into Monday. 

Although I do adore the cozy of a snowstorm, I really just want green grass and tulips please. 

First Snow

This sweet little blog of mine that started all those years ago with little little girls - I love this space and I proud of all of the memory keeping I've done here. All of the thoughts, all of the events, all of the holidays. It's so wonderful to have it all recorded. 

And I haven't been on here in so long it seems. I've just got to catch up. What have I been up to? 

~ November as a teacher means writing report cards, cross checking data, making sure I've got it all right

~ November means preparing for parent/teacher conferences next week

~ November also means decorating for the holidays. I like to be all done before Thanksgiving (except for our real tree) so that I can really enjoy December instead of it flying by. It helps me to have that time of decorating freed up so that I can have a fruitful Advent. 

SoooOooooo life has been full but I certainly don't want to neglect all that is going on. I have so much goodness to capture and remember here. 

I think I'll start simple with just one picture and then keep going each day as much as I can. 

Abigail texted us a few videos this week and this picture: 

It was the first snow even though there wasn't a flake of snow here, where she was, the magic filled the sky and I'm so glad she included us in the joy. 

Abigail update: In case you missed it, Abigail is in college. She is over-the-moon happy with her college choice (and her mama and daddy are too). She is rocking her first semester classes, has met some really special friends, and is very involved in Grace Notes (she plays the viola at Mass), and Catholic Campus Ministry. She often goes to a mid-week nighttime candlelit Mass, Confession, and Adoration. She will be majoring in Social Work and minoring in Catholicism. Right now her hardest class is Catholicism and her 'easiest' class is Philosophy. Her dorm room is adorable we love to visit and take her out for lunch when we can. Miss you Abigail and see you for Thanksgiving!  

We Love Snowstorms

Got a big one last night. It stared late in the evening and snowed all night and then after about 10 inches, it fluttered all day long and we ended up with almost another 2 inches! Dreamy, wonderful snow! 

I got up out of our cozy flannel sheets to see the first look at all of that snow!

After a few morning pictures, Scott and Abigail were up -- time for waffles! 

In the late afternoon we headed outside for a walk while Scott started snow blowing. 

Enjoyed a cozy fire! 

We went out front to enjoy all of the details. 

Before I pulled all of our shades for the night I ran out front to take a few last pictures. I love our home best in the snow! 

It Snowed

I am so grateful for a December snow - there is no decoration like snow. 

Looking out our kitchen window - it's impossible to really capture the quiet, the pink sky, that calm that snow seems to bring. 

I knew of course it wasn't enough for a delay from school {oh how I would have loved a two hour delay}  but I enjoyed it the best I could. 

Abigail and I rush through our school mornings but this morning was different. It was magical. 

I even ran out of the house with my camera all dressed up for school and even though Abigail and I had to be out of the door and in the car at 7:04, I just had to capture these because I just don't know when it will snow again... 

I will admit that it was fun to welcome my class to our back classroom door boots stomping off snow. In my Morning Message I had fun facts about snow - children make everything fun! 

Hoping it snows again this Christmas season - I haven't finished my decorating outside and I sure would like to see it all in snow. 

Snow

This was from a big snow on Sunday! Since then we've had another snow storm (and no school on Tuesday - remote day) 

I am so glad Abigail is always up for a walk with me.

Snow Days

We had a big storm that lasted all day on Monday - so much snow that there was no school on Tuesday too. 

Monday was our last 'traditional snow day' of no school - Tuesday we had a remote school day. It was still cozy and wonderful even though I was teaching and my girls were on their classes. The day certainly was easier and I'm actually happy to get the day in so that we don't have to 'make it up' in June at the end of the school year. 

My favorite part of snow storms are at dusk, dark, and early in the morning. 

So I snuck out before anyone was up to take a few pictures. 

I love when it sticks to the house. 

We had a casual tea party. I was really looking forward to baking scones since it had been a long time. 

I love that Anna was so cozy all day. 

Yum! 

For the rest of the afternoon, after remote learning, we watched the snow continue to pile up.
