Ordinary Days are the Best Days

I've been home from traveling for a whole week (M-F) and it had felt wonnnnnderful I tell you, just wonderful.

I love traveling and exploring and summertime is the really the only time that our teaching family can get away so much and see the things that we really want to so we have to fit it in the summer.

But my heart loves home and making this place comfy cozy is one of my favorite things in the world. So this past week has filled me up to the core.

I've been back to drinking my homemade green juice, overnight oats, salad for lunch, sensible dinners, and that feels amazing as well!

I've also been back to fluffing, decorating, organizing, and even dreaming about how I want to decorate for the fall.

But mostly my summer days consist of:

6am (yeah, not 5 am like the school year) green juice, strength, cardio, abs, helping Anna get out the door (gosh! I wish I took a few pictures of her this week, she looked adorable every day going off to her summer job that she loves so much), breakfast

7:30 Rosary and morning prayer, shower and ready for the day

8:30 breakfast for Abigail

Then we spend our morning at home. (Anna has my car and I actually love it to pieces because I am home!) So all morning I do home things. Abigail practices viola and relaxes.

12:45 Anna gets home and we all have lunch together then we read on the couch

In the afternoon I finish up some things around the house and then Scott is home... yeah!

Our evenings are simple and lovely. Most of the time we just talk, talk, talk after dinner until it's late. Usually out of the porch. Then it's showers and off to bed. Nothing beats all going to bed at the same time. I love tucking my girls in and giving them hugs and kisses. During the school year of course Anna is away at college and Abigail is always up late with Scott doing homework, so summertime is a real treat for this mama.

Yes, simple days are the best days and I'm loving every one of them so much.

On Finally Being All Caught Up

A snow day will do that to you... help you finally get caught up!

So here's the end to what is going on in our lives. And I've gotta say, it feels good!

When we redid our kitchen oh how I wanted it all classy and clean and white but I wanted a vintage stove (post back here) and it just wouldn't work. So move ahead a few years and now that this project is done it frees up a space for a baking center. And we found this!!

A 1932 Hoosier cabinet that will be a part of my baking center (build in to it)

It's gonna be so awesome when it is done. (this summer)

My heart was skipping a beat watching that get loaded into our car.

This I found on my phone in the middle of the day - posted on the schools instagram account and it made me smile.

This is the principal at the elementary school I teach at. He's awesome.

Simple Things

So there are about a 1,000 things I found on my phone on my quest to get all caught up with memories. Too many for one day. Here's the first batch! Ha!

Just us chillin - when was that? I have no idea! We've had a lot going on in our house lately - ugh! Had to rip apart the walls in the new mudroom so it's been crazy lately!

My guess is this was on the way to Mass in late August! I miss sundresses.

This was back in the last week of August - I think I made this clip for a friend, can't remember. Here's part one

and this was a Sunday night I stopped into school to do a few things.

I love that when we go to a restaurant they bring a book with them for the wait.

This one... Abigail in her pjs... singing along with a show tune!

I want to forever remember Saturday mornings, in pjs, medicine in her hand, singing. Just stay little!

These little phone pictures and little captures make up my life. Little things. Simple things. And they make me happy. One thing I know for sure is that I'm living in the good old days...

Little Things in April

They say that when you stop blogging you take less pictures with your camera. I can say for sure that since I stopped Instagramming I have way less pictures taken with my phone. I kinda miss having a ton of quick pictures to look at toward the end of a month. Maybe I'll go back... maybe not.

Abigail needed a hair cut.. don't ya think?

6 inches came off and it looks beautiful.

I love how Lana (who I've known since I was in 7th grade and who did my hair on my wedding day) makes my girls feel extra special when they leave the salon.
