Ceili

1

It was the annual Irish Dance Ceili! - And she was all smiles!

We love to watch her dance!

I, especially, cherish all of the memories of her little-ness, and her girl-ness. I just love it so.

Now, here's the story: she's danced Irish Step since she was five years old, in Kindergarten. But this year she took a few less Irish classes and tried out ballet. She oh my, oh my, she took my breath away, such a beautiful ballerina. I loved her in ballet.

Be still my heart.

The Ceili is not like any other dance recital. It's a party with an Irish band, food we bring, and sitting around a round table with family.

Irish Dance Christmas Party

It's not Christmas without seeing Abigail dance. She's started when she was just 5 years old - in kindergarten.

Irish Step Celi

1

In March Abigail's Irish dance school has their annual Celi. It is a wonderful evening that is part recital and part Irish party. There is a big band, lots of round tables with families, food, and laughter. All while we watch our daughters dance. A wonderful evening.

This year the dance school decided to tell an old Irish legend. And they 'told a story' as they weaved the dancing throughout. It was lovely. Abigail represented 'Queen Mauve" and played her viola throughout the show.

It so impressed me that she could easily play (flawlessly) in front of hundreds of people. Oh I could never do that at her age (or my age now).

After the show was over the girls change into their party dresses from home and enjoy time with their family and friends.

So proud of her and so happy that she finds joy in dancing.

Saint Patrick's Day

6

We celebrated with Irish Dance (of course)  Last week was the big St. Patrick's Day parade in the city.  This weekend was a simple show in our darling little town center.

8

The girls danced outside (burrr) an Irish restaurant.

She pretty much loves Irish Dance!

The news was there!

7

They asked if they could interview Abigail! It was pretty exciting!! She was on the 6pm news that night!

We celebrated later that evening with cupcakes!

Simple and festive!

While Abigail is outgoing, bubbly, loves life and everyone in the world, our Anna is sweet, quiet, and studious. Her idea of fun is hours of homework on the weekend. And her viola.

I wonder sometimes how quiet our house will be with out the sound of her practicing.

She'd never let me record a piece that's not fully 'polished'. These are not. But I want to remember just how my house sound on a Sunday afternoon.

Scott at the kitchen table helping Abigail with her Colonial school project and the sound of practicing while I type here.

While this is just a view of a wall, it's the sound I hear all the time.
