The Big First Day of School Post

It's a whilwind that first day of school.  But I love it.  The excitement, the newness, the anticipation of a great year ahead.  I can't imagine my life without the "first day of school" every year.

The girls had "first day french toast" with fresh berry butter.

Along with a sweet note from daddy!

About to take some shots of Anna just before she left. And Abigail suddenly got sad.

4

Seeing me in a photo with them makes it ever harder to believe that shes twelve.

5

Love that smile!

6

And that joy!

But of all the photos it's this next one that makes my heart smile the most. Maybe because we weren't trying for a picture and this is just the 'way she looked' about to walk to school.

9

With her shinny new lunchbox.

10

Walking a sixth grader to her right spot when you're a big seventh grader sure makes the leaving better.

And then I concentrate on the next part of my morning.

15

Mommy, I want to jump too.

16

But I like her twirling the best.

Our family prayer for the school year.

Now these next two photos. I wasn't ready for them. But it was magic right before my eyes.

27

Thank goodness for third grade teachers with love oozing out of them. Oh yea, it's going to be a GREAT year... I can tell from this one photo!

Do all third graders hold hands during the Pledge? Darling girls.

I know Abigail is cut off in this one but I had to put it in!

35

Oh yeah, she's that awesome!

And then I go home and clean up breakfast, do the laundry, and watch the clock... until I can hold them both again.
