A Blizzard and A Mouse

Last Thursday we had a blizzard (and a snow day). It was wonderful to get the call the night before.

I'm kinda out of order here. The blizzard was on Thursday but on Sunday (I already posted) we had another 8 inches of glorious, beautiful, white snow.

It's so piled up high now that it's hard to back up out of the driveway. And today it was so windy that there were tree limbs down everywhere. It's so exciting here!

So this is last Thursday. Our first "snow day" of the season. I loved it!

I got up early because I love my house when it's still dark outside. And I have it all to myself. (And I knew that I could nap or rest later since it was an all home day)

1

I made tea and had my Bible time, then picked out a recipe that would be perfect for snacking on all day as the snow fell down. Yes, I thought, this one...

2

They agreed.

3

The snow hadn't started yet, just some snowflakes in my window.

4

Around 6am it started. I was the only one awake and ready for it.

5

But I had my birds. Adorableness and I watched the ground cover up.

6

Abigail is an 8am alarm clock. Although for school she has to get up at 7:10, weekends she doesn't sleep a minute past 8 or maybe 8:15. But I love her sweetness in the morning. Laying in bed extra long and playing.

7

Scott, Abigail and I try to wake up Anna with the smell of waffles. Works every time.

8

Abigail has the look of "are you done yet? I've been up for hours... can't we go play yet???"

9

And play we did! And cuddled. And wrapped up in blankets by the fireplace. And played Snowman~opoly. And ate bowls of 'fresh cooked on the stove' popcorn.

There was happiness in this house. We love a good snow day.

All while the snow came down hard and wild, sticking to the windows.

Abigail and I watched a movie (new to us). Did you know Little Bear has a full movie?

32

In the middle of the day Scott and I decided to give the girls their Valentines Day surprise a bit early.

Before you scroll more... can you guess?

Did you guess?

Before I erased the "0" days left, I had to take this picture. I remember when Anna wrote that the early morning of our trip 4 years ago. Sweet Anna.

It was tricky to make the cookies, royal icing, frost them and decorate all in secret. But it was so worth it!

16

Little Minnie purses as their Valentine gifts to enjoy the trip before we go.

17

And yes, 181 days is soooooo far away but the very next day I had to book the dining reservations and I knew there was no way they wouldn't hear. (not to mention that Anna really helped me out the night before planning so much of the meals)

19

Somewhere on Scott's phone is the screaming. I just got the joy.

21

I laughed at their happiness. So so fun!

Abigail cried. She does that when she's overly happy.

The next morning we woke up to sun. And that pretty glistening snow with huge snow drifts so high.
