Our Home ~ February
I can't imagine not decorating and redecorating each month. Opening bins and taking out seasonal decorations is wonderful. Finding old treasures and using things in new ways around the house each month is a joy.
I always want to do this. To work hard at making my house a home. And for me it's new pillows on the couch, a heart banner, just the right throw, sheets, and hair bows.
Sure, it takes time to take it all out month after month. And sure it takes even more time to pack it all away. But if I didn't then I wouldn't be home.
Each year I love seeing all of my old favorites and each year I try to use thing in a different way.
I was so excited to keep in budget (the February decorating budget being $0 this year)!!! Except for the fresh, pink, tulips I did it! We spent our extra money this year on repainting the entire 'main' color of your house. (it's now a light, bright, white color) It's the foyer, the hallway downstairs, the stairway upstairs, and the hall upstairs. He also painted the dining room. It's now a creamy white (the same color as our family room). I am so happy that our walls are pretty and that all of the yellow is GONE! Scott is a meticulous painter but gallons of paint can add up so I decided, no new decorations this February.
Along with the painting I took off and hand cleaned every one of these crystals. These light fixtures are original to our colonial and they are now gorgeous. I love how the light shines through them and makes pretty designs on the walls.
In the kitchen I have turned a new leaf. Less is more for me in that room. Only my hand print plates (they can never be packed away) and the daily essentials. Now that I have a tea cart there is no need for my teapots to be on my kitchen counter. I love the cheery new looks. Rearranging my kitchen windowsill and counters is another favorite (shop in my seasonal bin and around the house) thing to do!
Bible memory for the girls at their breakfast place mats.
Two favorite kitchen colors, light blue and red.
Our Valentine tree
and tea
Snow... sooooOoooo needed for Valentines day
Valentine envelopes and snowflakes in the living room
thank you snow for helping me decorate
And tulips on the mantle.
I love the way it looks with the lights off at night. We are long done with our 'viola' room by then and are all either upstairs our in the family room.
In our family room since winter has finally come we always have a fire going if we are home and we are sooooOoooo happy that there is snow to look out on.
Little Entry way
And the Dining Room
Yes, I always have an apron on
For the girls to wear all month
There's nothing like love decorations... but they all come down on Monday... because it's time for eggs and bunnies, daffodils, and everything spring!

I so want to be there.
To walk ever so slowly and admire each and every touch you add to your lovely home.
As it is, I will settle for enjoying it through your eyes and the eyes of your beautiful photos.
Love your kitchen!!!!
