Rose Garden
Dear Grandpa,
You would have loved the roses today.
Loved them....
And you would have loved your great-granddaughters in love with the roses.
Oh how I wish you were with us. Really with us. I know you were there though. In Abigail's sweet hands cupping the little soft ones.
In Anna's wonder of nature.
They take after you. I don't really feel like their love of flowers comes from me. Sure, I love them but not like you did. And Anna... well, she loves them just like you did.
Did you send me sweet flower loving girls to remind me to stop and smell the roses?
I'll always remember the flowers you grew at your house. The pots filled to the brim with them. You, working in the yard and spending time with me.
When I'm at the rose garden I miss you. But it's good to go because I remember you; your hand squeezing my hand, your jolly laugh, and your love.
Oh Grandpa, you would have loved the roses today.
