Home With Me

There's nothing like it really.  I've been waiting for this all year since I drove away from their school on the first day way back in September.  And here we are, finally!

It's not the big things at all.  I knew that.  But I know that more when I'm doing the dishes and I hear them playing in the background.  It's just them being here that I love.

It's in the not going anywhere that I love.  Just going to the grocery store with them feels so good.

It's the no schedule, no pack up, no hurry up, no go go go that I love.

Sure, I know we'll have our moments but for now I'm still in summer bliss, and I plan on staying here as long as I can.

We spent our first summer morning here at the pool.  And we had it all to ourselves.  Along with the clouds.

We packed a picnic lunch and played card games when we were done.

We read books.  (do you know this series "Mercy Watson"?  The cutest intro to chapter books I've ever found.  She's not independent yet.  She reads a page with help and then I read a page.)

Weird as I post these though.  We haven't been back yet.  First it was our weekend trip to Philadelphia (more coming soon)  then it's been rain, rain, rain, and more rain.  I have to be honest though, as much a I love our lazy days at the pool that we really do live at every day, I've loved the rain and just being home.

More than anything I love the feeling of not having to look forward to the weekend.  Just Tuesday feels so good.
