Marry Me Day

September 17th... I love this day.  Maybe it's because it's not the normal 'celebrate' day like our Anniversary or a birthday.  It's just a little day tucked into the cozy month of September, and it's all ours.

I have this huge photo album of our engagement.  From his proposal all the way to our rehearsal dinner.  Packed with writing, photos and memories.  I wish it was all digital so you could see all of the gushing of love... it's something else I tell you.  Scott and I will get a chuckle out of it when I lug it off the shelf tonight.

The styles have all changed and we laugh at our hair but the love is the same.  I'm still that same girl, only 22 years old so in love with Scott and in love with being in love.  Still am, just more.

On the day he proposed I wrote, "I wish that the world could stop right now so that I could savor this feeling forever.  Today is the day the love of my life asked me to marry him...and I said yes!"

Little did she know that there were so many more feeling to savor; so many more she couldn't even imagine...

oh that walk down the aisle
that leap in my heart when God planted the seed for adopting a baby girl from China
looking at the ultrasound screen and seeing a baby moving inside me
the tender moments of watching him being a daddy
there are so many moments that I could have and would have stopped the world if I could
even just the everyday ordinary moments are so precious to me
I've always loved the stage we've been in... because we've been in it together.

September 17, 1994... if I could do that day over I wouldn't want to stop that moment and savor those feelings forever, I'd know that there was even so much more.  More love, more being in love, more being in love with love.  Two baby girls, China, birth, pregnancy, a sweet walk with our Lord together in this life hand in hand.  I'd savor it all.

Here's to so many more feelings to savor with the love of my life.  Happy Marry Me Day Scott
