My Motto for This Week

"Do one thing at a time and enjoy it." ~Joyce Meyer

So Scott and I squeezed in a date night this weekend. (an at home one after the girls are in bed.... my favorite since I hate going out) I had some praise music on as we sipped wine, chatted about Abigail's party and our stressful things this week. I had read that quote from Joyce Meyer this weekend and thought that we should give it a try. You know, more than just a thought like, "oh that's a good one."

We decided that for one whole week we would both make that quote our goal. We would remind each other of it, hold each other accountable to it, and actually do it all week. It seems simple really but I know it'll take some work.  The list is looooong and then there are all of the 'regular' things on top of it.  You know like, laundry, dinner, cleaning, etc.  But this week no matter what I'll remember that quote and think instead as I do one task off that list at a time, "I get to do all of these Kindergarten room rep duties.  I get to stay at home and clean this house instead of cleaning it after working at a job all day.  I get to grocery shop at 9am.  I get to cook dinner for my family at noon instead of a rushed 6pm.  I get to be at the door of that school as the bell rings.  I get to do those errands."  I'm smiling already.

  2. I love this! I am going to try this. The kids get out next Thursday and I have been so busy this last week getting everything done. I may print it out and put on my bathroom mirror to look each morning.

  3. Tara,

I really needed to see this quote and reflect upon it today. Been going through a lot lately and trying to keep on top of everything with everyone while trying to heal myself. Never seems to be enough hours in the day. thanks for sharing this I needed a reminder to just do the best I can. Hope you are having a wonderful week.

    Blessings,
    Jill
