Holiday House Tour ~ Dining Room

Our dining room is the place where we will entertain this season. I like it 'formal' but comfortable. I turn it into the North Pole for my children's party and I take out the Lennox china for our Christmas Eve dinner for our family.

During the week it looks a bit like this...

1

This is our advent candle. It burns every night at dinner time (I bring it into the kitchen for dinner).

2

Each night one number gone.

3

A few advent books and ideas for discussion at dinner as well.

(Now the rest of the photos were taken at dusk so I apologize for the dim light)

Last Christmas Scott surprised me with a tea cart. And I set it up with a hot chocolate station for the season.

Simple white cups with red ribbons

With Swiss Miss for Scott and Anna

9

And we found a non-allergic brand for Abigail.

A jar of marshmallows (have you tried these? They are in the hot chocolate aisle. They are PERFECT for cocoa. They are teeny and the crunchy kind.

10

And candy canes too

11

Although our tea is mainly in the kitchen I thought it couldn't be a tea cart without some holiday tea

Kringle's Peppermint Cocoa is delightful.

I'm loving all of the red and white polka dot in that 'formal' room. It's cheers it up a bit. And this Santa wreath is my very favorite new find this year.

This room is also the place I have three little trees. They are filled only with the ornaments that the girls made when they were little. They are so precious to me.

I found this ~story book~ garland on etsy and it is just perfect in this room. And with these ornaments.
