We Planted the Seeds

Please play this song. Scott and I adore it. And today I am teary as I type.

So how many 'First Communion... Part something" can I post? If I had all the time in the world I'd post the whole shabang but I don't. And maybe that is better for me anyway. Because I'm really sad, really really sad that it's over. Maybe I"ll be so tired of typing the words first communion by the end of the pictures that I'll be ready to let it go. Or maybe not.

Last fall we planted over one hundred tulips so that they would be up and beautiful for her First Communion.

And we watered them.

We talked about them all winter long as the snow covered the ground. We knew they were under there.

In December the First Communicants were dedicated at Mass. This is my goddaughter with Abigail.

We snuggled all winter long. She attended Church School each and every Sunday morning before Mass. And had extra classes once a month in the afternoons on Sunday.

There were retreat days.

And her first Reconciliation.

In the cold winter we went as a family and choose her dress.

And the year moved on. And her faith grew. And grew. I watched it with my own eyes. Unfolding.

And then all of a sudden it seems, spring came. And the tulips bloomed.

Abigail, someday you may read this... and you should know I am crying in joy as I'm sitting her typing and you are sleeping. I love you and our faith with every breath.

And they were perfect.

And she was ready.

  2. Tara...
This is the most beautiful post you have ever written.
The words you wrote, the meaning behind them, the stunning...as always...photos to accompany them...perfect.
Someday, Abigail will indeed read this. And she will be touched at the thought and love that her mommy put into this most special time in her life.
And I will tell her that I remember it.
And it was perfect. : )
