Tonight

It was a full school week so tonight my girls and I cuddled on the couch and the whole movie Easter Parade... like we do every year.

Have you seen it? It's simply marvelous.

Transitions

Last night Abigail, Scott and I went to her middle school orientation evening. In the school in our backyard, so of course like so many times for events for Anna at that school, we walked.

Nothing hit me until we were about half way there... then, like all parents I thought, what? This is crazy! Middle school? My baby in middle school? The whole idea felt so foreign to me.

But during the tour I noticed all of the other 5th graders. They all looked so young.

And after the tour, the presentation was wonderful and showed just how 'young' you can still be in sixth grade. It was reassuring to this mama for sure.

I'm so grateful for good schools and living in this town that we live in. Because I know, no matter how many times I whisper, "just stay little, just stay little" she won't stay little.

Holy Week

I love this week. And although this week has us full.

Sunday ~ Easter

It is still very holy.  And we will so what we do best find small ways to keep this week a sacred week in our home.  How I wish that we were 'just home' all week, but we are not. So we plan and we try extra to make it peaceful in our hearts.  Little things we can do.  Devotionals on the breakfast table, prayers at bedtime, peaceful hearts, kind and soft words, and a heart remembering our Savior.

It reminds me of this post back here

I'm filled up when they share their faith woven into their lives so much it spills out of them when they are talking to me.

I Believe

I believe in happy endings (to books) (and to bedtime).



I believe that bedtime stories create a place in the heart of a child for security. The words in the books don't matter as much as the time together just before drifting off to sleep.

I believe that the cuddly time spent can erase any kind of bad day and prepare a child for a peaceful night.



I believe that the magic in childrens literature has the power to keep a child young in their imagination even as they grow older each day.

Yes, I believe in stories.

And even though I'm always in the middle of a book with my classroom, I always save some of my story telling for my home. Because I believe in the time spent.

Our Home ~ March

March is such an in between month for us. Winter is still in full force ~ yet the calendar says spring. Winter holidays are sure over ~ yet Easter is not yet here. We are in the middle of our Lenten season of prayer and the spring mantles call me.

So March in my home is a mixture of all of that.

As I place these photos here I realize so much of this has already changed!  I've finally learned how to decorate, be a mama and wife, annnnnnd teach in a classroom.  I try to spend about 10 minutes a day doing/redoing a little vingette each day.  One little bit a day is all it takes!
