Anna's Second Semester in College

One of the hardest parts of being a parent is knowing that your child is growing up.
But it's also one of the best parts.
Sure, we were oh so sad when Anna had to leave again for college
but it sure is fun to visit.

She actually moved in last weekend but it was a lot of moving and unpacking. So we (all three of us - Abigail is realllly good at organizing Anna's clothes in drawers) spent a lot of time in her room getting her ready for her first week of in-person classes for her second semester.

She moved across the hall (same dorm) and what a difference it makes. There is a large tree right outside her window. I can't wait for her to send me pictures of what it looks like all bloomed in the springtime. (The day after she moved in, it snowed and she sent us a text video of the snow against the tree outside her window, so pretty)

Anyway, after a full week of classes and living with her new (awesome - perfect for her) roommate we wanted to visit. I knew by then that she would have had a chance to move in in more her own style and to be more settled. And I for sure wanted to hug her as close to Valentine's Day as I could!

So a visit was in order - we love college visits - it's like a little 'getaway' a little 'road trip'  a little 'bubble of family' and I adore all four of us together. There is nothing that makes my mama's heart happier.

It is such a stunning campus - sits on top of a hill, and the views are spectacular. Someday I will be there at sunset for sure to get one of those famous hill sunset photos! For now, that is the beautiful church right below her dorm.

She has the cutest little set up - she's so organized, neat and clean.

Lot's of bright sunlight in those windows that I love! Her art work is hanging on the walls along with a huge white board.

She wanted her cactus from home so I repotted it and Scott added some rocks on top - just the little touch of green (and life) her room needed!

Best of all is her smiling, happy face.

I was clicking away taking pictures of her room because I know one day she will want to see this tiny piece of her life. (I love seeing pictures of my sweet college days)

After our 'room tour' (ha!) we headed out to take our girls out to eat. We are super careful about Covid and decided not to eat in a restaurant instead choosing a place that would allow us to have our masks on until we ate, and a place where masks were mandatory.

But first a stop I love to a few antique stores we enjoy poking around in.

Wooster Public Market is a really fun place to eat - kind of like Quincy Market in downtown Boston if you've ever been there. Something for everyone - even our Abigail with all of her allergies. This homemade ice-cream was allergy free and amazing!

Then we headed back to campus, gave her a million hugs, picked up tea for the drive home, and gave her a million more hugs.

We can't wait to go back!
