Acadia National Park (part 5)

On our last two days we wanted to fit in as much as we could!

We headed to Bass Harbor. We planned a boat tour of the islands surrounding this quaint little fishing village.

The girls loved the animals. I loved the history of the islands and how life was back then when they were small communities on the islands with no electricity - but a school, a church, a post office. Every year a new teacher would be chosen to spend the year there. So interesting to me. I love stories of 'life back then'.

We had such a lovely lunch at a local place overlooking the water.

And then we headed back to Acadia National Park to see all we could that day!

That evening while Scott and I packed up the girls wrote in their diaries filling them in with all of the memories to hold on to.
