Christmas Eve

What a delightful, lovely, holy day our Christmas Eve was. The very last photo I snapped that day is my favorite (above). Our beautiful little precious family ~ answer to prayer ~ God's greatest blessing of which I am so grateful.

Back to our Christmas Eve day...

Scott's Mom and Aunt join us for a casual morning of presents and some food, conversation, and joy.

Fun presents, silly presents, meaningful presents, and useful presents. I only captured these but we are very excited about our new cooking set, Radko ornaments (this one means so much to me because Anna was IN China during the CNY year of the dragon) (this one is so beautiful -- I just love these ornaments - they are handmade using the traditional glass blowing technique with intricate designs)

After, I got baking and made two pies that afternoon ~ pecan, and Tennessee fudge

This one is Abigail's favorite and it's just not Christmas without this fudgy, chocolate pie!

We had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner early (4:00!) and headed out to Mass (one of the best parts of Christmas!

I love these photos of my girls. I've always taken pictures at church before Mass starts. It's always so joyful.

And then we headed home where we feasted on homemade Christmas cookies and big pot of tea. It was the perfect night.

Christmas Eve

I posted about the days leading up to Christmas Eve back here and also our lovely Christmas Eve morning in that same post.

Then we had a relaxing afternoon leading up to Mass. The girls played games and I baked two pies.

And then it was time to get ready!

We took a few pictures in the living room before we had to leave.

Love this little family of mine ❣

The church looked beautiful.

Scott and Abigail brought up the gifts.

And to my delight they even let me take pictures of them after Mass.

We headed home for a simple dinner, A Charlie Brown Christmas, cookies, and off to sleep!

A Beautiful Christmas Eve

Oh how I adored Christmas Eve this year. It's the traditions of the past with the 'who we are now' mixed in and it was lovely, lovely, lovely. I miss it already and wish it wasn't over.

Christmas Eve for us consists of a simple day really.

It's pie baking all morning/afternoon

and we all help prep the house for Santa coming that night. After all of our decorations have been up starting November 1st and with the flurry of a very full season of events and such our home needs a bit of a dust, tidy, and clean. And so we spent a little bit of time getting everything in order.

We attended 5:30 pm Mass at our beloved church ~ the music was devine ~ the decorations took our breath away ~ the homily was touching and inspiring ~ and it felt like home.

At home after a few pictures we changed into Christmas pjs and ate our annual cozy meal - this year in front of a roaring fire and watching a Christmas movie (and laughing, and laughing, and laughing) so so much fun!

It was a few last pictures and off to bed so Santa could do his magic.
