Things I Loved About My Birthday

๐Ÿ’—This brunch

๐Ÿ’—Going back to school -- I was kind of dreading coming out of my holiday cozy home cocoon but was actually wonderful to be teaching again -- There were snow showers on and off all day and I had my class run outside and I took pictures of them catching snowflakes (wish I could post those here)

๐Ÿ’—7 AM Daily Mass -- I was able to get to church that early on my way to school -- it was the most peaceful way to start my day/back to school/and/birthday

Birthday Brunch

Yesterday we celebrated with my Mom and Dad my birthday with a lovely brunch.

It was at a familiar restaurant. We'd been there for my birthday (2013), Valentine's Day (2016) and Mother's Day (2013) before, but it had been years and years!

The food was wonderful, the tea selection lovely, and the service was outstanding!

Our table was right in front of a warm fireplace too!

After we took pictures in that same spot that we did all those years ago.

What a lovely way to ring in being 53!

Anna's Birthday

Way back on June 10th Anna turned 22. 22!!!!! OH my goodness!

I can't believe that pictures are not on here.

But here is why:

1. It was right after Anna's college graduation - out of town, an overnight

2. It was right after Anna's college graduation party - it was at a restaurant but we sure planned and did a lot

3. It was in the middle of the end of the school year - I was trying to write report cards and was so exhausted from the end of the year teacherness

4. It was the DAY BEFORE Abigail's high school graduation

My oh my!

I'm just looking at the pictures I took now and am actually quite impressed that we pulled it off.

Presents ✔

Presents actually wrapped ✔

I made a homemade cake with homemade frosting (not sure when/how I pulled that off) ✔

Anna, you are so adored and I am truly thrilled that somehow I thought take out my camera that day because I never would have believe that we had a celebration after so many celebrations within a few days of each other, but we did because we love you to the moon and back. And look at those birthday smiles you have. They are as precious as you are.

Birthday!

I turned 52 on January 5th. It was a Sunday ~ my very favorite day of the week! I was so happy to celebrate my birthday on a Sunday.

Mass

All of us sitting in our church, receiving Holy Eucharist, listing to the songs, the homily. Best birthday ever!

Scott arranged and treated us all to brunch at a really fancy restaurant, Max in our little old town center.

It was such a special day with my precious family. I certainly felt the love!

Anna is Twenty One!

On the Monday of the last week of school Anna had a birthday -- twenty one! How in the world she is 21 is beyond me! The last week of school is truly a whirlwind of emotions and exhaustion and just so much but we were over the moon to have Anna home and so excited for her birthday.

I set up her presents on the kitchen table before I left for school at 7 that morning just to have it a bit festive. I knew it would make it something to look forward to.

I raced out of school and home to start our evening. Abigail was in the middle of a final that day and gave us all a scare. Her chemistry final started at 11:15 and she wasn't home at 4:30. We drove her route she walks home. We looked around the school. Her phone was off. It was the seniors graduation that evening at 5:00 and we thought perhaps she got sidetracked and went to watch the graduation. But Scott drove to the school, braved the graduation parking, and walked right up to her chemistry room. She was in there, and just handing in her exam at 5:00. No break... she just worked from 11:15-5:00!
It made for a worried and crazy start but it all ended up ok and once we were together it was perfection!

We headed to our town center and a favorite restaurant for very special occasions.

Abigail ordered a basil fresh lemonade. Anna and both had a grapefruit mocktail. So yummy!

I love this girl with my whole heart!

I love how Anna loves appetizers and instead of an entrรฉe, she ordered 3 aps!

There was gelato and a candle -- loved celebrating her!

We headed home for cake and presents. We had so much fun together!

Happy Birthday Anna! We all love you so much!
