A Beautiful Christmas Eve

Oh how I adored Christmas Eve this year. It's the traditions of the past with the 'who we are now' mixed in and it was lovely, lovely, lovely. I miss it already and wish it wasn't over.

Christmas Eve for us consists of a simple day really.

It's pie baking all morning/afternoon

and we all help prep the house for Santa coming that night. After all of our decorations have been up starting November 1st and with the flurry of a very full season of events and such our home needs a bit of a dust, tidy, and clean. And so we spent a little bit of time getting everything in order.

We attended 5:30 pm Mass at our beloved church ~ the music was devine ~ the decorations took our breath away ~ the homily was touching and inspiring ~ and it felt like home.

At home after a few pictures we changed into Christmas pjs and ate our annual cozy meal - this year in front of a roaring fire and watching a Christmas movie (and laughing, and laughing, and laughing) so so much fun!

It was a few last pictures and off to bed so Santa could do his magic.

A Christmas Home Tour

Well Christmastime is here and it's magical. It doesn't matter that it's is my 49th Christmas. I'm still a child at Christmastime. I fell just the same way as I did when I was 7 (yes, I remember), 9, 12, 23 (and just married) and now at 49. My heart loves Christmas oh so much!

I thought I'd take you on a little house tour. I love to decorate. And I've posted already some rooms from around our home already.

On to a few more places around home ~

This is in our little entryway:

I used real garland going down the stairs and as always hung homemade ornaments made from past Christmas cards when my girls were little. I love them so much!

This is our family room decorated in a classic country style. My inspiration were these stockings and the book Little House in the Big Woods ~ the Christmas chapters and captivating.

I will have many more photos of this room, our living room after Christmas morning but for now just a glimpse.

Snow is the Best Decoration of All

We had a snow on Sunday afternoon and into the night. It wasn't too too much but is was more than a dusting as you can see. And it was enough for a two hour school delay and that was lovely.
