It snowed! It snowed! It snowed!
First, some music!
Let me set the scene. On Friday after popcorn and cranberry garland string (and watching Jingle and Belle) (back here) we got all tucked in. It was dark and really cold outside but warm and cozy in our little house.
On Saturday around 10:00 am it started. Just little flakes at first.
Just enough to make the perfect backdrop to bringing in the real star of all of our Christmas decorating. The real tree.
(look how it's coming down so pretty)
Scott carried it in and got it in the stand (to make room for the snow blower)
And my camera went click, click, click because snow and real tree headed into your house is just about the most romantic thing in the world, don't you think?
All afternoon Scott worked on the lights (takes him about 4 or 5 hours... we're super picky about the lights)
And all afternoon the snow piled up high.
I love the way it looks inside when you're standing outside... so I bundled up, grabbed my camera and took a few.
Who is blessed enough to live in that cozy house? Oh it's that little family who loves Christmas oh so much.
Our home is old. Our home is not extravagant and sprawling in size but it's all ours and we love it.
Christmas in the Forest looks so much prettier when the real snow is piled up against the windows almost looking like it mixes with the fake snow in our family room.
After dinner we hung the ornaments.
And then we roasted marshmallows in the fireplace.
and ate smores right there on our living room floor.
Love Anna's smile here. (with marshmallow on her lips)
And of course the best part of the weekend is our date night, at home, all cozy in PJ's on the couch after little (and big) girls are tucked in. This week I made homemade cranberry sauce and served it in our wedding stemware. It was hot and delicious. Lot's of sweetness... enough to call it a dessert for sure!
The next morning we woke to one happy little girl!
(and her mama in her PJ's taking pictures... oh please don't let anyone look out their window and see me)
happiness
There was lots of reading in the playroom.
She tucked in there all cozy.
In the afternoon we got all dressed up for a concert. And orchestra concert.
It's serious business walking on stage and getting situated.
She's so little her feet didn't reach the ground and her eyes peeked just above the stand.
Anna's orchestra played magnificently. I can't take photos during the pieces but I just have to grab on even if it's walking off the stage.
It's pure joy when grandparents can come.
Before we knew it we were home again, showering, changing, cozy, annnnnnd getting ready for a full week ahead.
Hoping for another Christmas snow before December 25th.
Tara,
