My Dad (and his new heart) came over on Sunday for dinner. I served all of his favorites. I was so happy to have him (and my mom over) just the way it should be. Eating, talking, telling stories. It felt as if nothing had ever happened. But even better really because we were all so grateful for the 'normal' dinner and having my Dad back with us. Oh it was wonderful. And I will forever be grateful to God for letting us have more time with him.
Time for stores of his childhood.
I love his faces telling those stories
and Abigail 'getting lost' in them just like I did when I was seven.
"Oh taste and see that the Lord is good... the Lord is good... the Lord is good..."
I love grandparent stories, I treasure mine so very much!! She'll always remember those :) So happy your dad is home and healthy right where he belongs.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful and joy filled pictures!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so thrilled that you were given the gift of more time with your dad, and that you appreciate it! I find my heart so sad when I see grandfathers at sports events cheering on their grandchildren. My kids have missed so much of that since my father passed away while my kids were very small. Hugs to you!
