I'm quite sure that my computer either
(1) is reallllly tired of all of the Hawaii posts, one after another
or
(2) is so jealous he thinks if he kicks the bucket he'll go live there in his next life.
I'm not sure but our computer is sure on the fritz! Scott 'rigged' it for now but I'm not sure how long I have with this one.
As soon as I can get all of my things to work on here again I'll get right back to finishing up Hawaii.

9 ~ Discovering the Falls, Enjoying the Pool, and Dinner Out
In Hawaii our days were long and our wonderful evenings went late. So by day 9 it was time for a bit of a more relaxing day. We knew we wanted our whole afternoon at the pool. But in our morning we wanted to see some beautiful things in Kauai.
'Opaeka'a Falls
Spectacular really, just spectacular and a must see in Kauai. There was no hiking involved so that was good. We wanted the girls to have a restful day. We almost felt guilty for such an amazing view without any work! This is what the falls looked like.

Anna often chose to wear a hat instead of sunscreen for her face. And because I knew this I bought her a hat from here. SPF built in

Ready for this? As we were standing there this amazing rainbow appeared at the base of the waterfall. Took my breath away.
Movies have been filmed here. (like these)
and I can see why...
It was hard to leave such a beautiful place but this was calling.

"Pretend it's morning and the sharks are all around us. " (Abigail)
The girls lost in their "world" in the pool right now. So much fun for them, so happy for me.
Today we drove to two waterfall lookouts. (*looking up, watching the girls swim*)
Kauai is like this: you think you see the most spectacular view. You stop the car - inadequately capture it on the camera (because there's no way to really capture it) but then we drive to the waterfall. Through the most isolated, windy road and there is a spot that you just can't believe exists. (There was a rainbow at the base of the double waterfall)
Lunch for our second time at Bubba's (because they have a non allergic hot dog for Abigail. Double burger and onions for me. Chilly and cheese dog for Anna. So happy sitting up at the counter overlooking the ocean.
Back at the pool and staying at the hotel for the rest of the day. Ahhh.
Gotta go swim with my girlies! Bye!

And after a whole afternoon of swimming it was time for showers and dinner.
This restaurant was so wonderful, right on the hotel grounds. We walked along the beach or the pool deck and there we were!
While we waited Scott and I talked, Anna relaxed and read. Abigail wrote in her diary. Sitting under a palm tree.
The hotel beach was simply beautiful.
And Scott and Anna shared this Hula Pie for dessert. They raced to see who got the last bite.
Our evenings on Kauai often seemed to end like this photo. Anna with her dessert, me snapping one last photo, and Abigail looking really tired from a day of adventure. So thankful for this restaurant. We loved not getting in the car and just walking down the beach. Bliss. Vacation bliss.

8 {More} Luau
This was our morning and our afternoon back here.
But this was our our evening.
Kalamaku Luau
Because when you travel to Hawaii you have to go to a Luau! And it was fun fun fun!
We pulled in and the cars where parked on a grassy field. Before we even opened the door we heard live music. Hawaiian music that set the mood. It was a bit misty rainy. But in Hawaii it sometimes only last a bit. There was a lei greeting.
We found our seats and got drinks. (a word about Anna and her favorite drink while we were in Hawaii. Not that I could forget but just in case! She always ordered Pog Juice wherever we were. Passion, Orange, Guava. Loved it)
And then we found our seats on the Kauai Plantation Railway
Abigail never looks at the camera, so we retook the picture only and I like it better now with Anna in the background anyway!
Then it was time for the food. And boy was it good! Abigail could only eat the pork but boy oh boy did she eat and eat and eat! Even after dessert was served and the show was beginning she kept eating. This was often how she looked. See the food on the end of her fork?
And wowza! These two with the very same look. Oh man I love them!
With my big girl. I was so happy that night to be where I was and to be together.
And then the show started.
It was a beautiful story.
With beautiful hula.
And amazing fire
I wish that I could have videoed some of it for you to hear. Because it was awesome!

The hike was super fun and I never expected such an amazing lookout. layers of colors in the ocean and such prettiness all around me.
The girls did super great and I would tell anyone who travels to Kauai to do that hike.
Lunch at Calypso on our way back in the fun, so Hawaiian town of Hanalei. It's charming old Hawaii and I love it there. Please, let's go back before we leave!
But back to get ready for the Luau. Short drive and the misty rain stopped just in time. Drinks, train ride through the plantation, bought the girls a turtle bracelet, and then time for dinner. The family at our table with 3 ground (20ish) children looked at us and said, "that's a great age". They were/are right. Anna's mouth hung open and Abigail was all gasps especially during the fire.
Is this trip for real?!?!
*** Yes, I see that these photos are super yellow and weird looking but it's 12:14 am and they'll have to wait until tomorrow, sorry about that ***
