This weekend felt all about the big storm coming. I was so excited! Here we are on a Monday and there is a S N O W D A Y ! ! ! No school is a big deal and really cozy and fun! I love having a day home in January.
We spent the weekend preparing for the storm coming, having fun together, and getting a few things done. It really was the BEST weekend! {especially with this extra day}
Nesting {Saturday}
Getting ready for a big snow storm feels a bit like nesting. Beds ready, all the laundry done, things tidied up.
Scott and I stopped at a little farm store near us that we adore and while the big stores had empty shelves, this little place was filled with everything you could possibly need... with a roaring fireplace too! It's charming to shop with a basket. 💕
And oh yes, I brought home some cheerful flowers to be on our kitchen table on the 'hunker down' days at home!
When we got back from shopping we finally got to lay out a new carpet in our dining room that had arrived. (thanks Mom!) Here are just some quick snapshots of it. It's perfect!
I love the green so much! It will be perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter in the spring!
In the later afternoon we headed out for some antiquing and dinner out. Anna spent the evening with a friend out to eat and Abigail was on her campus we had had a cozy dinner just the two of us after meandering through antique booths. Delightful!
Found a print 88 out of 125 of Anna's college --- amazing find! {I will have to take a picture of the art and post it here when I can}
Brought home that beautiful pillow!
It was such a fun day for us!
Storming
8:00 AM Mass and when we left it was just starting to come down.
We kept getting the cutest pictures of Abigail on storm day! She too ventured out to Mass on campus.
