Summer Is On The Way

We are getting so close to school being over.  Summer is just around the corner.  I'd been wanting to spruce up our family room just a bit before the spring and summer... and... I just happened to have a Home Goods gift card.  So I took away some of the blues and browns.  But not too far because we love to have pizza night as a family in here and I wanted them to be able to grab a pillow and 'not worry'.  So I put the 'old' in a basket for an easy grab.



It all starts with this watercolor of my girls. My Dad painted that. Have I told you that a hundred times already? I just ironed that blue dress for Abigail to wear this week. How can she be that size?



I love the look of yellow on the brown leather. And the white throw adds just a touch of feminine in an all daddy room.

Right above that TV that we never watch is my collection of the entire unabridged Little House audio books. If you ever want to treat yourself... these audio books are simply wonderful.



And I swapped out some of the things I kept on the coffee table for some new spring things.











And quilts. I love quilts. I'd like to say I have a beautiful collection of those too. But I don't. Someday, I'd love to add to the few I do have. I'd love to see them in every room in my house.



I can picture them wonderfully piled high on the top of a hutch, bringing the eye up and popping some lovely color into a room.

Yes, someday I'll have a lovely collection of old quilts.
