Ice cream has been our thing this summer. We've made (and eaten) more homemade ice cream this summer than all our years owning that ice cream machine.
I can tell you for sure that there is nothing like homemade ice cream! Today I made (with Abigail) strawberry. Two cups of the most red, sweet, beautiful berries... make the most wonderful ice cream in the world!
These pictures are from last week when we made homemade cookie dough. Also amazing! Ben and Jerry's released their cookie dough recipe and we had to add it in to our vanilla. I learned that you have to precook the flour so that it's safe to eat. It's not just about having 'no eggs' that makes it cookie dough.
Seriously, if you've ever thought about getting an ice cream machine - do it! It's so easy, so fast, so delicious.
Also, all of our ice cream is non-diary (Abigail is allergic to all dairy). So we substitute milk with creamy oat milk (make sure you get the creamy kind) and substitute heavy cream with canned coconut cream. Still makes the most creamy, thick, amazing ice cream on the planet!
