First Communion... Back at our House

I love these two and their happy, relaxed, 'the way they always are, not stiff for the camera' photo of them.



And I am beyond grateful for this.



And this. That's my brother Trent, and his beautiful family.



Cousins are the best! And we are so happy there is a still a 'baby' cousin in our family!






And then we all stepped into our backyard (through the gate)  Gifts for all of the Mothers on their place settings (it was Mothers Day)







Abigail, your daddy looked so handsome on your special day.

Be Still My Heart



Oh, and I love this photo of Scott's Mom (Grandma Bee.. like the buzzing bee because of 'Baker') (and ooooh her dress here... swoon)



And this is my oldest brother, Tommy.



Although I wanted her to wear her dress until dark I knew that it was going to be a hot day so I let Grandma help her change.



Into this dress which was much cooler.



So she could run and play.



And sit in the grass with cousins.  And swing.



(and eat chocolate cake... more coming tomorrow)







It was a grand day.  So relaxing.  I loved being outside and in our backyard.  Sometimes the backyard can feel more elegant than the finest restaurant.

Twirling with Grandpa

If I tried to put words to these photos I simply wouldn't know what to say. After this year I know that this day and THIS moment is a gift from my Father in Heaven. Magic... pure Grandpa and Granddaughter magic...

The Evening Before and The Morning Of

I love the way the dessert table looked at night.  I was so happy and excited the night before.



Now, I was just setting up my camera on a tripod and doing a few test shots for a family photo. But I love the way the yard looked and how Scott set up the tables. (We had set the place setting that morning and then covered them with sheets so that the would stay clean until we got home from church.)

How it all looked before we covered it. I did an April Cornell table cloth (called Mother's Bouquet.. perfect for Mothers Day) in the middle for the "head table" with solid dark pink napkins. Then I did the two side tables with white tablecloths with the "Mother's Bouquet" napkins to bring it all together.



Oh that morning. I still get butterflies thinking about it.









I told Abigail that when I'm old and grey I'd like her to bring me those shoes so that I can look at them and remember.







Just four years ago... Anna was my second grader then...









And then just as we were about to walk into our church my Goddaughter arrived...









The Mass you'll just have to trust me.. was A MA ZING! The children were on the alter for the entire Mass and gathered close, right there for the Eucharistic prayer. I cried. It was just so meaningful.





And after Mass we headed back home for a very special afternoon.
