Look what we have

Well only for January.  We're dog sitting for my parents while they're on vacation.  The girls love him.  What you can't see from the pictures are Abigails watery eyes and sneezes, could she be allergic?

Quoteable Sunday

"Exhaust the little moment,
Soon it dies.  And be it
Gash or Gold,
It will not come Again in this disguise."  Gwendolyn Brooks
(Sometimes I think of this when dinnertime seems like chaos.  Yes, even that I will one day miss.)

Christmas with Scott's family

Since Scott's family went to the beach for Christmas we had an after Christmas lunch party last week.  Girls had so much fun opening more of course!

Anna was shocked that Grandma B and Aunt Cindy new she needed to have more parts to her new castle.

The light was just right when we left so I was able to get some good ones outside

So Sweet

So I had a birthday yesterday and it was so sweet.  I don't really like them.  It's not the age going up that bothers me.  It's just that I'm more of a quiet person and hate the attention thing.  I only do the whole sing Happy Birthday song for my girls.  Anyway, it was a such a special day.  I woke up to a beautiful letter from Scott.  Sometimes we're so busy with life that we forget what our journey means and what we mean to each other.  He reminded me.  He always has a gentle way to point me to the One the holds our hearts, our dreams, our lives.  He is one beautiful man of faith.  And then the song, "dancing".  I had never heard it but at the bottom of the letter it said to press play.  Oh, it was like the song was written for us. I sat at my computer when it was still dark in the morning and the girls were still sleeping and he had left for work, crying at my desk.  He found it, held on to it and kept it as a surprise for my birthday.  What a sweet way to start my day.  I love when he reminds me of how much God loves me.

Today I'll figure out how to put music on this blog... maybe.

Sweet hugs and kisses from my girls all day long.

Sweet dinner with Mom and Dad in the evening.

Sweet email from my Mom after she got home that said that she remembered feeling when I was born that it was a special extra Christmas present.

Sweet card from my Aunt and Uncle in California when I didn't even know they knew my birthday.

Sweet call from my Mother in law to wish me a happy day

Sweet little voices on the phone from my neice and nephew singing to me.

Sweet txt from my sister in law.

Sweet call from a friend who made me smile the next day.

Sweet day for sure.

"Mom's loving care necklace:  Your family of bunnies necklace adorably represents Mama bunny with her baby bunnies.  Sweet and simple, your bunnies necklace allows you to keep your baby bunnies close to your heart."  Sweet for sure.

Thanks for letting me share.

Snow Finally

Trying to remember to catch the simple little things we do a thousand times.  (like helping Anna with her gloves)

It was cool how the snow fell in huge drifts way over our heads.  It was great for building snow caves and tunnels!

I know some day I'll be so glad for the no tooth, snow on the tongue picture!

Trying to get back up the hill where we sled

And then it was a mad dash home because I forgot that part about "go before you get all the snow stuff on"... we made it!

Christmas Wrap Up

Honestly, this is it!

One very special present was Dad's book, done.  It's been 10 years in the making and he had it published for us.  So here I am with my two brothers, Dad and the book.  It was a beautiful story that made me feel like a little girl again.  I'd heard some of them when I was a child riding in the back seat of our car.  I loved Dad's storytelling and what a gift to have the collection all written down.

One last Christmas kiss before bath on Christmas night.

Grandma and Abigail after a long day

One last present....

Abigail kept saying all day long when she opened a present, "just what I always wanted!"  I sure hope I got that on the video sometime during the day because she says it just as sweet and excited as can be!

I can almost see the exhaustion in their little bodies.  This is the next morning.  They've woken up in their new nightgowns holding their babies, watching the snow fall.  Let it snow!

Good bye vacation

There is nothing more that I love than school vacations!  Even though we're just home, we're together.  I love being home, love to nest, love to cook, love to be with Scott and my girls.  So this week off was a bit of Heaven!  It sure feels like a long day for Anna at school and it's awful quiet around here!  Abigail looks a little lost without her!  Some Christmas Day pictures!

At Grandma and Grandpas house in Cromwell.  Eager to open stockings.

darling, just love this one!

Any picture that shows that my girls are still little tend to be favorites of mine

A play date for 2 is the perfect gift for my two girls who do everything together. Delighted and sitting with their Uncle Tommy.  (my brother)  Speaking of everything together.  I even noticed on vacation that when one has to use the bathroom, the other comes along and shuts the door behind them.  They are seriously always together.

Cracks me up, the picture of the girl on the box.  Why does a princess always have to have blonde hair and fair skin.  Anna is such a beautiful princess.  Anna had so much fun building this with Scott on vacation and even more fun playing it!
