This Baby

This beautiful baby boy and his mama, friend of mine stopped by one day last week.

I can guarantee you one thing... when this baby boy stops by, my camera comes out.

3

He showed us his new front teeth

4

And smiled like crazy

5

This one got to hold him

And it was a happy day, instantly.

The End.

Summer Is On The Way

We are getting so close to school being over.  Summer is just around the corner.  I'd been wanting to spruce up our family room just a bit before the spring and summer... and... I just happened to have a Home Goods gift card.  So I took away some of the blues and browns.  But not too far because we love to have pizza night as a family in here and I wanted them to be able to grab a pillow and 'not worry'.  So I put the 'old' in a basket for an easy grab.

14

It all starts with this watercolor of my girls. My Dad painted that. Have I told you that a hundred times already? I just ironed that blue dress for Abigail to wear this week. How can she be that size?

5

I love the look of yellow on the brown leather. And the white throw adds just a touch of feminine in an all daddy room.

Little things I love about this room. Their birth announcements.

And photos of them of course.

2

I love the yellow.

16

And one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite author/historian.

15

Right above that TV that we never watch is my collection of the entire unabridged Little House audio books. If you ever want to treat yourself... these audio books are simply wonderful.

19

And I swapped out some of the things I kept on the coffee table for some new spring things.

And quilts. I love quilts. I'd like to say I have a beautiful collection of those too. But I don't. Someday, I'd love to add to the few I do have. I'd love to see them in every room in my house.

23

I can picture them wonderfully piled high on the top of a hutch, bringing the eye up and popping some lovely color into a room.

Yes, someday I'll have a lovely collection of old quilts.

Now if only I could get a few minutes in this pretty little room to sit... like I said, summer is coming!

A few things around my house

First Communion came down but I had to remember.

1

2

We had sort of a baby lamb theme with her cake and I fell in love with these little farm animals. So sweet on my windowsill.

6

I forgot to take a photo of the pink cross banners in the living room.

7

So I took this little lamb banner down from the dessert/tea area and just couldn't put it away so I moved it to our little bathroom.

9

And the cross ornaments I think I'll use for Easter next year. Right now we have cupcakes on the tree for my two girls birthdays this spring.

First Communion... the end of the photos

So we spent the afternoon in our backyard.

16

Celebrating the beautiful Sacrament of First Communion.

We had trays and trays of the most delicious Italian food from Hartford. Amazing!

17

My Mother on Mother's Day with her three. (tommy, trent, and tara)

19

Cousins were up to their happy business of just being together.

20

This is Abigail with her cousin, Ian. He and Anna are the same age. Just two weeks apart. Abigail has always, always, always adored him... which makes me happy. (same hair color... love that too)

21

I was beaming all day.
22

23

He's the one that let me make all my 'first communion dreams' come true. He never asked questions as the boxes and brown packages arrived day after day in April. But then again he always makes my dreams come true.

24

Abigail with Uncle Trent.

25

26

Anna was my helper that day and leading up to. She doted on Abigail in a way I'd never seen. She ironed all of the napkins and she left me encouraging, destressing notes on my pillow each night.

27

We had dessert inside. And this just might be my favorite picture of the day.  I think she sort of looks like the lamb here.

28

She is delicate, petite, and the lamb cake was just perfect for her.

She opened sweet gifts.

And okay, I'm not okay with this. The party had to end.

There were bare feet all dirty on the bottom, hair all askew, missing parts of her after dress, and favors being handed out as they drove away.

In other words. It was perfect.

So my little girl let me take a few last photos of her.

With her banner from church.

43

I snapped and thought of the day.

44

Of the Catholic Church that I love with my whole heart. And of the blessing of being her mama.
