Still so young

Today, all of her favorite dolls came to the store (in a litlle kid stroller) along with a fully packed diaper bag.
Tomorrow, a second grader.  I love that she's still so young.  (look at those cherry clips)

Storyland (part 2)

My girl.  Our first afternoon was a bit hot, but the girls didn't notice.  (PS, notice those shoes I wore, super cute but not great for walking so much... what was I thinking?)

We loved the quaintness of this park.  It was picturesque, and the girls loved how the castle was up on a hill.

Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

And so, I start.  A blog?  That's not really "me".  I'm more of a private person but there are so many reasons that I've that this on my "to do" for so long.  Here's what I love about blogs:
  •  A chance for family and friends to see what's going on in our lives without having to bring pictures or albums along with me
  • It's quick and easy
  • An outlet for my photography.  I been reading everything I can get my hands on about photography for the past few years.  And they don't all fit in their albums
So why "Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust"?  Well, to be honest, I couldn't think of a title.  "Two amazing blessing",  nah, too boring.  It was Scott that thought of the perfect title for me.
  • Faith:  Well, that's the foundation of my life.
  • Trust:  It's more than just believing in god for me.  I'm a work in progress for sure, but it's trusting in his care for my life, our girls, and everything that's happening in my wonderful life.
  • Pixie Dust:  Well, I needed a bit of fun in the title, not so weighty.  And the song, "Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust" was in a show we saw and loved on the Disney Cruise.  Although I was trying to come up with something a bit more, "I won't grow up.." from Peter Pan, (always trying to soak in my girls littleness.  Not wanting them to grow up even one more day)  "Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust" fit just perfect.
  • So that's it, always my faith, learning to trust, and a bit of fun with Pixie dust.

Guess what Anna's doing now?!

Horray for tennis!  Since it's Scott's favorite sport and he loves to play (since high school) we were always hoping that our girls would want to play too.  (I tried, but an better off with running... I just have to move my feet, no racquet to swing too:) )  Anna started at a great tennis club where Scott plays and LOVED it!

Such a total "Anna" pose!

Looking very 7

Scott took her to the back of the school to give her a few pointers before her first lesson.

Thinking about last year

I made this video of Anna's first day of first grade last year.  I always feel so sad on that first day and the house seems way too quiet and empty without her.  On her first week back I wasn't ready to tackle my fall lists, so I focused on this.  (not sure why the pictures are so blurry and why the video is so small.  The pics are really super crisp and it looks much better viewed larger, but, I'm learning.)  With just 3 days til the first day of school here, I'm thinking about last year a bit.  Turn up your sound.  I really tried to capture how the morning felt.  This year she's worried that she'll cry like last year.  Now if only she'd let me get her hair cut just like last year...

Aunt Kathy visit

When Anna saw this picture she said, "sugar and spice and everything nice."  I couldn't agree more... that's what little girls (and grown up ones) are made of.  Thanks Uncle Tony for sending these pictures.

Love Abigail's eyes in this one.

A First... this time for daddy

I couldn't let this day go by. I just had to soak it in. How hard he worked; how much I admire his character; how proud I was of him today. What a great principal he will be. So, the girls and I headed to "daddy's school" to share in the excitement (after all the kids had gone) I wanted to take a few pictures to remember how little my girls were when their daddy started at this school. So excited to be back to school!

Story Land (part 1)

All packed and ready to go!  Lots of stuff in the car for just 3 days away.  But with Abigail's EE we had to take all of her food.  Girls were so excited... just 4 hours til Storyland!

Anna was not afraid of any ride! Abigail loved it all too!
